07/10/2021. Welsh Conservative Leader Andrew R T Davies MS Takes a Break From Front Line Politics. He decided to take a break from front line politics after suffering from mental health issues. Former Welsh Party Leader Paul Davies will deputise in his absence.

27/09/2021. Andy McDonald MP Resigns as Shadow Secretary of State for Employment Rights & Protections. He resigned during the Labour Party Conference when his proposal for a �15-an-hour minimum wage was not supported by the party leadership.

15/09/2021. Government Reshuffle. A Government reshuffle is under way. Changes so far include:- Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP becomes Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs. Rt Hon Dominic Raab MP becomes Deputy Prime Minister, Lord Chancellor, and Secretary of State for Justice. Rt Hon Michael Gove MP becomes Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government. Nadhim Zahawi MP becomes Secretary of State for Education. Nadine Dorries MP becomes Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Rt Hon Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP becomes Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade. Rt Hon Stephen Barclay MP becomes Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office. Rt Hon Oliver Dowden CBE MP becomes Co-Chairman of the Conservative Party and Minister without Portfolio. Simon Clarke MP becomes Chief Secretary to the Treasury. The Rt Hon Gavin Williamson CBE MP (previously Education), Rt Hon Roberet Buckland QC MP (previously Justice), Rt Hon Robert Jenrick MP (previously MHCLG) and Amanda Milling MP (Conservative Party Chair) have all left the Government.

02/07/2021. Kim Leadbeater wins the Batley and Spen By-Election for Labour. She narrowly held the seat by 323 votes in the parliamentary by-election caused by the election of former MP Tracy Brabin to become the first directly elected Mayor of West Yorkshire.

26/06/2021. Matt Hancock MP Resigns as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care and is Replaced by former Chancellor of the Exchequer Sajid Javid MP.

18/06/2021. Sarah Green (Liberal Democrat) Wins the Chesham and Amersham Parliamentary By-Election. She won the by-election, capturing this seat from the Conservatives on a 25% swing and is the first non Conservative to hold the seat since it was formed in 1974.

17/06/2021. Edwin Poots MLA Resigns as DUP Leader.

21/05/2021. We have updated with the newly elected Councillors from the Local Council Elections. The newly elected Councillors are present in the system, but we are still waiting for some Councillor email addresses to be assigned. This should be complete by the end of the month.

10/05/2021. We have Updated the Election Results for the Scottish Parliament, Welsh Parliament and London Assembly including new parliamentary MSP and MS email addresses.

28/04/2021. Arlene Foster MLA Announces her Resignation as First Minister and DUP Leader. Following internal party pressure she announced that she would be stepping down as First Minister at the start of June and as DUP Party Leader in late May.

Local Council and Devolved Parliamentary Elections 6th May 2021. On the 6th May elections to the Scottish and Welsh Parliaments, London Assembly and English local Council elections will take place. In addition there will be elections for Combined Authority Mayors and Police and Crime Commissioners. All 129 Scottish Parliament seats, 60 Welsh Senedd (Parliament) seats and 25 London Assembly seats will also be elected. We will update the newly elected members of these parliaments and Assemblies once the information is publicly available. The local Council elections will cover 21 English Shire County Councils, 35 Metropolitan Councils, 28 Unitary Councils and 59 District Councils. We plan to have all the newly elected members available by the end of May with their contact details (subject to the data being made publicly available).

21/04/2021. Leo Docherty MP Appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Defence People and Veterans). He was appointed to the role following the resignation of Johnny Mercer MP.

20/04/2021. Johnny Mercer MP Resigns as a Defence Minister. He resigned after a new government law designed to protect veterans from unfounded prosecutions excluded British soldiers who had served in Northern Ireland.

06/04/2021. Northamptonshire Local Government Reorganisation. Eight Councils - Wellingborough, Corby, Daventry, East Northants, Kettering, Northampton, Northamptonshire County and South Northants have been abolished and replaced by two new unitary councils. These are: West Northamptonshire Unitary Council covering the areas of Daventry District, Northampton and South Northants, and North Northamptonshire Unitary Council covering Wellingborough, Kettering, Corby and East Northants.

05/04/2021. Dame Cheryl Gillan MP has died. There will shortly be a by-election in the Chesham and Amersham Constituency.

24/03/2021. Neil Gray Resigns as MP for Airdrie and Shotts to run for the same area at the 6th May Scottish Parliament elections. There will shortly be a by-election in this Westminster Constituency.

16/03/2021. Mike Hill has resigned as MP for Hartlepool with immediate effect. There will shortly be a by-election in this Constituency.

23/01/2021. Paul Davies MS Resigns as Conservative leader in the Welsh Parliament. He resigned after he was seen drinking with other politicians in the Senedd shortly after a ban on pubs selling alcohol on their premises. Darren Millar MS who was present also resigned as Party Chief Whip in the Welsh Parliament. Alun Davies MS who was also present was suspended by the Welsh Labour Party pending an investigation.

17/01/2021. Kelly Tolhurst MP Resigns as Parliamentary Under Secretary Of State (Minister for Rough Sleeping and Housing) and is replaced by Eddie Hughes MP. She resigned from her ministerial role following 'devastating' family news.

14/01/2021. Richard Leonard MSP Resigns as Scottish Labour Leader.

08/01/2021. Alok Sharma MP leaves his role as Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to become President of the UN COP26 climate conference taking place in November 2021.

28/11/2020. Nadhim Zahawi MP Appointed Minister for COVID Vaccine Deployment. He has been appointed to oversee the deployment of the various Covid-19 vaccines as they become available.

18/11/2020. Jeremy Corbyn MP Readmitted to the Labour Party but Not the Party Whip. He therefore sits as an Independent member of the House of Commons.

29/10/2020. Former Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn MP Suspended from the Party. He was suspended after he failed to retract comments made about an Equality and Human Rights Commission report which found the Labour party responsible for "unlawful" harassment and discrimination when he was leader.

16/10/2020. New Shadow Ministers Appointed. New Shadow Ministers have been appointed following opposition resignations over the Covert Human Intelligence Sources (CHIS) Bill. 01/10/2020. Margaret Ferrier MP Suspended by the SNP. She was suspended by her party after admitting travelling to and from Westminster despite suffering Covid-19 symptoms.

28/09/2020. Claudia Webbe MP has the Labour Party Whip Suspended. In September 2020 the MP for Leicester East was charged with harassment, which she has denied.

11/08/2020. Ruth Davidson Appointed Leader of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist MSP Group. She was appointed by Scottish Conservative Party Leader Douglas Ross MP to lead the Party in the Scottish Parliament in the run up to the 2021 elections.

05/08/2020. Douglas Ross MP becomes Scottish Conservative Leader. Following the resignation of Jackson Carlaw MSP as Scottish Conservative Leader he was the only candidate to stand as his replacement.

Following the resignation of Conor Burns MP as Minister of State for Trade Policy, Ranil Jayawardena MP has been appointed a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department for International Trade and Nadine Dorries MP has been promoted to a Minister of State for Health and Social Care.

04/04/2020. The Rt Hon. Sir Keir Starmer MP is Elected New Labour Party Leader. Angela Rayner MP was elected Deputy Party Leader. He won the leadership election with 275,780 votes (56.2%), second came Rebecca Long-Bailey with 135,218 votes (27.6%) and Lisa Nandy in third place with 79,597 votes (16.2%).

15/03/2020. Local and Mayoral Elections in England are postponed for a year. Planned elections for 7th May 2020 have been put back one year until 6th May 2021. This covers elections to Local Authorities, London Mayor and Assembly and Police and Crime Commissioners in England and Wales. We will continue to update changes to our Local Government database, including Councillor contact details, by-elections, their Portfolio/Committee and leadership roles and Council Officers.
